After 29 years, here’s what I have learned…

I have learned that life does not always turn out how you want it to no matter how bad you want something, but it does not necessarily mean you stop fighting for what you do want.

I have learned that life is full of surprises around every corner and each day is a different day.

I have learned that people are not always who they say they are and will let you down at some point along the way but this does not mean you throw it all away.

I have learned that the choices you make affect everything and everyone around you but you still have to make the choices that are best for you.

I have learned that everyone comes from a different background, no one knows exactly what someone has been through.

I have learned that just because you see someone with a huge smile on their face does not mean everything is great in their life. They could be hiding something and hurting inside.

I have learned that opportunities don’t come around all the time so when they do you have to take it when it gets thrown your way.

I have learned that finding a best friend is rare and when that rare one comes along make sure to hold on tight because we all need that one person who will always have our back.

I have learned that college is highly overrated.

I have learned that you can relate most things in life to sports.

I have learned that everyone is different but doesn’t mean you love them any less.

I have learned that a lot of people who say they are your friend usually just need something at that time and become a seasonal friend.

I have learned that friends come and go but the real ones stick, but the ones that do go always try and take something from it to make you better.

I have learned that every obstacle you face in life only makes you stronger.

I have learned that people who judge people just don’t want to admit to their own things and want to blame others, only God can judge you.

I have learned that life is not about how much money you make its about being happy.

I have learned that its not always the smart who excel or make it big, it’s the bold.

I have learned that people don’t always keep their promises but that doesn’t mean you leave them high and dry.

I have learned that family is always there, no matter what happens, how far you go, how annoying they are or how crazy they drive you, they will always take you in and give you the shirt off their back.

I have learned that time is precious because you never know what could happen to anyone or yourself.

I have learned that life is about how you make it.

I have learned to take time to sit back and breathe.

I have learned that you have to go after your dreams no matter how many people tell you that you cant do that or its not possible, prove them wrong.

I have learned that life is not about how many friends you have its about how many you were able to help along the way.

I have learned that being a Christian is not about going to church every Sunday or being the leader of your Bible study, it’s how you live your life.

I have learned that you have to take time for yourself. I have learned that most people are trying to find their way in life and who they are, instead of assuming things or talking about them help them along the way.

I have learned that everyone is equal and no one is better than the next.

I have learned that nobody’s job defines them and no ones job makes them better than another.

I have learned that being honest with people is the best way to go.

I have learned that being happy means doing things you love, meaning take something that you love to do whether its sports, dance, and/or hobbies and continue it.

I have learned that no matter how hard you try and forget about something or someone and try to deny it, you can’t.

I have learned that those who love you the most push you the hardest because they know your true potential.

I have learned that life is about living each day to the fullest.

I have learned that when life pushes you around you have to push back…..

Also, remember that everyone has a shining moment. Yours may not be right now, but it will happen.
